a few words from the Froot camp recruits...
meet matty and alex - a couple of the friendly faces you'll meet at Froot Camp each week...
I've been a habitual Frooter for the last 18 months now, it's been a game changer for me. The training is as hard as you want it to be, there's no expectations or pressure. The trainers are very cool down-to-earth people and the venue is one of the best Auckland has to offer. From theme orientated sessions to shared lunches it's a way of life for me now and it's free!
I am a brand new Froot Camper, and I couldn't be happier with the decision I made 12 weeks ago when I finally decided to find out what my flatmates had been raving about for the past 12 months. As a runner who had never done a burpee before, I was completely out of my comfort zone during those first few weeks. Needless to say, I've never looked back. There is something really special about Froot Camp, the fellow Froot Campers who encourage and motivate through sunshine, mud, sweat and rain, and the truly beautiful grounds we train on. It is the hardest i've ever trained, and the most fun I've ever had training.
It took a few ‘no’s before I finally said yes to giving Froot Camp a go. Bootcamping is the last form of exercise I ever thought I’d try.....I was hardly a walker let alone a runner!
12 months on and I don’t know what I’d do without Froot Camp. The people are amazing, the exercises are tough but not impossible, and the trainers find ways to make the sessions work for people of all fitness levels. I love the variety, and how you never know what you’re getting yourself into when you turn up!
To say Froot Camp has lifted my level of fitness would be an understatement! Being yelled at by an ex-Army PT and being $50 lighter after one hour held no appeal but FC is different: no two sessions are ever the same. There are all levels of fitness and ages, no-one is shouting at you to do the exercises but rather we all encourage each other to keep going and we help each other out. The social side is great, I’ve forged some good friendships at FC. Come rain or shine (it’s actually a lot of fun when the weather is bad, battling through the elements only adds to the sense of achievement!) you know that a FC session can improve your fitness and mood no end. One thing is for sure after a good FC session: you’ll eat and sleep well afterwards!
